Cheyenne, Northern

The Northern Cheyenne Nation is located in Southeastern Montana. The Cheyenne were among the First Nations that fought Custer at the Little Big Horn Battlefield. Today, their remaining land is located just east of the Little Bighorn Battlefields and the Crow Nation.

The Northern Cheyenne are distinguished from the Southern Cheyenne, who were forcibly relocated to the Indian Territories of Oklahoma.

Among collectors of traditional ethnic art, the Northen Cheyenne are best known for their beadwork and for their leather work.
