Midwest Artists and Beyond!

Sometimes we just can't meet your needs.  When we do find artists that can sell you quality, unusual items at a reasonable price, we will try to bring them to you.  We will also strive to introduce other artists, who have impressed us with their unique skills and abilities.  Prairie House has no financial interest in these artists.  We just happen to have seen their work and liked it.  They appear in no particular order.  We just list them as we find them.

Our Artist Picks:

1. Rob Ray: Instilliation Artist.  Provocative interactive artworks that provoke discussion and contemplation on topics of race and sexual orientation. (Watch the entire film clip of his work before passing judgement.  It's not what you think.)

2.Tired of the typical bean bag toy?  How about a hand-knit cephalopod or other invertebrate?  Hansigurumi, a Washington State-based artist developed a line of hand-knit invertebrates (and some vertebrates) based upon the interests of her son.  Take a look.  Really cool items!  Her prices range from about $6 for a pattern to $90 for some of her custom-made animals.

3.   Tim Ferueson  has a cool music video on You-Tube. Better than the ususal stuff I've seen on U-Tube.  To turn a phrase, A little bit punky, a little bit Rock 'N Roll.

4. Maraz Studios of Beach Park Illinois specializes in beautiful handmade prorcelain art by Margie Razar.  She has a beautiful line of Judica, and other  works, such as flying pigs and hand-painted porcelain boxes. Her work is outside of our specialty, but   we were very impressed with her work when we saw it at a fair this past summer.

5. Elfstone Studios features the fantisy works of Susan Meyer.  Here, you can get elf-based artwrok, including fountains.
