Turquoise and Silver Bolo

The Bolo measures 2½” tall, 1½” (max), and nearly “ at the top of the halo.The larger Turquoise is 1 ½ inches long, and the smaller one is just under 1” long. The turquoise is well veined with copper, and far more blue than pictured here.

This Bolo bears the hallmarked of “Sunboy” (Terry Hunt), the noted Acoma-Laguna artist who works out of Santa Fe.His works are hand-made, three dimensional pieces of abstract expressionism.If you look closely at this bolo, you will see the face of a woman (lower larger piece of turquoise), surrounded by flowers.The circle of leaves above her head form a halo.These abstracted symbols are a hallmark of Mr. Hunt’s work.
